Day 1: Arrival and Briefing

Day 2 : Rongai Gate to Rongai Cave Camp

- Distance: 2-3 hours trekking
- Highlights: After a drive to the Rongai Gate, the trek begins through pine forests where local wildlife sightings are common.

Day 3 : Rongai Cave Camp to Kikelelwa Camp

- Altitude: 12,000 ft / 3,800 m
- Distance: 6-7 hours trekking
- Highlights: Continue trekking across the moorland with sweeping views of Kilimanjaro’s Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
- Arrive at Kikelelwa Camp for an overnight stay.
Day 4 : Kikelelwa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp

- Highlights: Ascend through the moorland zone to the stunning Mawenzi Tarn, situated at the foot of the towering Mawenzi Peak. This camp offers some of the most scenic views of the trek.
- Overnight stay at Mawenzi Tarn Camp.
Day 5 : Acclimatization Day - Mawenzi Ridge Exploration

- Highlights: Spend an extra day here to acclimatize. Take a short hike around Mawenzi Ridge to help prepare for the higher altitudes ahead.
- Return to Mawenzi Tarn Camp for a second night.
Day 6 : Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut

- Altitude: 15,500 ft / 4,700 m
- Distance: 4-5 hours trekking
- Highlights: Traverse the high-altitude desert saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, arriving at Kibo Hut. The barren landscape offers a surreal view of the mountain’s unique ecosystem.
- Overnight: stay at Kibo Hut.
Day 7 : Summit Day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Horombo Hut

- Summit Altitude: 19,340 ft / 5,896 m
- Distance: 7-8 hours ascent, 4-7 hours descent
- Highlights: Begin your summit push around midnight, reaching Gilman’s Point by sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your accomplishment, descend to Horombo Hut.
- Overnight: stay at Horombo Hut.
Day 8 : Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

- Highlights: Descend through lush rainforests to Marangu Gate.
- Transfer back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
